We offer piano lessons in Skelmersdale on a one-one basis with experienced musicians and educators. Lessons are held at our fully equip studios and utilise both acoustic pianos and high quality keyboards and synthesisers. During your piano lessons you will be introduced to the piano keyboard, piano technique, and the fundamentals of music theory.

Piano lessons are a fantastic introduction to music. At Next Step Studios we make learning a musical instrument fun and engaging. We won’t pressure you to take exams, but we will encourage you to give it all you have got!

Amy Wilson

Amy trained with Dawsons Academy, the Phil Winstons TheaterWorks, and the Institute of Contemporary Music. She holds a BMus Honours degree in popular music and Level 6 RSL Diploma in instrumental teaching.

Amy has had an exciting career in production as a vocalist and a dancer in the hotel and cruise industry worldwide. Amy has arranged vocals and trained vocalists for numerous professional productions. Now a devoted mother of two, Amy performs on a limited basis and shares her extensive knowledge and experience with Next Step Studios students in her bespoke piano lessons and vocal lessons at our studio.

James Hoy

James began his professional career straight from high school performing in venues across the U.K and Europe. James’s teaching career began early too, with a volunteer position in Lancashire Youth Service. In 2007 James founded The Engine Rooms in Skelmersdale and grew the business into an award winning music school before returning to full time performance work in the hotel industry. Now the director of Next Step Studios and Anteros Community, James is a devoted educator. A fellow of the school of social entrepreneurs, and recipient of the SELNET social entrepreneur of the year award, James is as passionate about community and personal development as he is about music and creativity. James currently teaches for Lancashire Music Service and a maintains a small number of private students here at Next Step Studios.
